Ivy League Trip to the USA
Published: Thu 10 October 2024Following a strong application, James was selected for a fully funded trip to the USA alongside students from NCS and ICS. The trip was for those interested in applying to Ivy League universities, with students given the chance to meet current and former students, and hear talks on the admissions process.
During my time in the US, I was able to visit four top U.S. universities (Columbia, Princeton, MIT, and Harvard) , an experience I’ll never forget. I was captivated by Princeton’s peaceful, beautiful campus and the strong sense of community among students. Columbia’s city location in New York City gave it a fast-paced, exciting energy I really enjoyed. MIT stood out with its creative, hands on culture, and I especially loved the quirky “banana room,” an area filled with free bananas for students. Harvard impressed me with its deep history, beautiful architecture, and stimulating academic environment. Each campus offered something unique, and the trip was truly life-changing. I got to meet many undergraduates, post docs and professors who gave me an insight to what life was like in each respective university. I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone as the US universities offer many things that England does not. It changed my perception and understanding of the universities and being able to look at what life was like there was definitely life changing!
