Georgia Leggett – University of Newcastle: Psychology

“I have just completed my first year at Newcastle University, and honestly, it’s been amazing! I’m so glad I followed through with my decision to go to University, it’s definitely been one of the best choices I’ve made. Starting University was naturally nerve-racking at first, but it’s such a unique experience and is so worth the nerves. Everyone is in the same boat when starting, which makes it much easier to adjust and connect with others. I’ve met so many great people, joined societies, and overall, it has really helped with my independence and has given me many opportunities to grow. For example, joining the Newcastle Running Society not only helped me discover a real passion for running, but also led me to meet someone who’s now one of my closest friends at university. I love the fact that Uni enables me to focus on a single subject that genuinely interests me, Psychology. Now that I’m on my summer break, I actually find myself missing it already, and I can’t wait for my second year to live with the group of girls I’ve gotten to know. If you’re thinking about going to university, I’d really recommend it; it’s something worth considering and aiming for. The memories and experience you get are completely worth it”.
